The International Students Day of Metallurgy (ISDM) is an annual conference organized by and for students of metallurgy and related subjects such as materials science and materials engineering. In the past more than 200 international students – mainly from Europe – have been attending this conference every year to exchange professional knowledge, build up networks and express enthusiasm about their subject.
One essential point is the chance to get in contact to companies of the metalworking and related industries that present themselves at the ISDM contact fair or by other means. Moreover, by taking part in excursions, the conference’s participants can gain fascinating insights into local production sites of some metalworking companies.
Since the year 2010 when the ISDM was hosted in Aachen last time, this conference has taken place in Leoben (2011), Freiberg (2008 and 2012), Kraków (2013) as well as Clausthal (2014) and now comes back to Aachen.
